The Unfiltered Christian Podcast
Good morning, good evening, good afternoon, Sate. Praying that you all are well. Um be blessed new year to all of you out there as well. Just praying that Elohima continue to guide and keep you all throughout this brand new year and bringing you nothing but joy and peace, laughter, happiness, and by his grace, you would continue to push through and just turn to him and lean upon him. So I have something I wanted to share with you all. And it's just about something I'm quite passionate about, and I have been for the past few years. Um, we always think about what we can do to cater or care for God's people. And sometimes we're thinking so hard we don't realize what's actually in front of us, or we don't see what's in front of us. And that's why it's important for us to pray for our eyes to be open to what God wants us to see, you know, what he wants us to do, what purpose he has in store for us, even if it's a daily purpose, like what is it, Lord, that you want me to do today? What purpose do you have in store for me today? What is it that you where do you need me to go? What do you need for me to do? Who do I need to cater to? And so um I used to be praying those, I still pray those prayers, but I used to be praying those prayers. And there was a point where um I wasn't working, I was a full-time mom at home, and I had this passionate moment where um I decided that I wanted to buy and make some hampers for the homeless. To be honest, CC is the one that inspired me to do this. Um, before that time frame, I used to buy food for the homeless whenever I walked into the supermarket. Because here in England, a lot of the times you see the homeless in like the shopping areas. And a lot of the times I'm going in and out of the supermarket shopping, I would always ask them, would they like something to eat? Because I know sometimes it can be difficult to want to give money because everyone is going through their struggles, they've got children, and everyone is dealing with different struggles, and we don't know what they could necessarily use that money for. But it doesn't mean we can't help. And food is something that everybody needs, and we shouldn't even deprive anyone of that. We don't intentionally, of course, but I'm just saying like food is something that you can give. And I just thought, okay, if I'm going into do my shopping, what's the harm in adding in a sandwich or a drink or a crisp or something to my order? There's no harm in that. And so I started um always asking anyone I saw that was homeless, would they like something to eat every time I went into the supermarket? And there's some moments where I might be tight, I've got a budget that I've walked into the supermarket with, but I just I don't know. Like when I have that mindset, when I'm asking that person would they like to eat, once I walk into the supermarket, for some reason, it just goes. And I just kind of just feel this little bit of peace. And I'm like, you know what? I gotta eat, they've got to eat, that person has got to eat, and I am God's disciple. Who else is gonna come and provide that for him or for her? And so I make it my duty to still do it, and for those that I actually know, because there's some homeless people I've built a relationship with, I actually will give them a bit of money here and there as well, because like I built a relationship with them, and you know, I feel a bit more comfortable with kind of giving money, so I would do that. But going back to a few years ago when I wasn't working, I decided to make these homeless packages. And um looking back, guys, I don't actually know how I did it. In honesty, I don't know how I did it because when I think about all the things I bought, because I made female and male hampers, and I put in basic things like rags or flannels, um, we call them flannels. Um, I put in body sprays, um sanitary towels for the ladies, and I in both of them I put in like shaving sticks for the men and the ladies, and um for the women, I tried to buy some um, I think it's called dried shampoo. So it was just the basics of like hygienic things. Oh, and a bar of soap, because I found it much more cheaper to put in a bar of soap than to put actual body gel. Um, I'm saying body gel, but to put in um shower gel. So I made those and as much as it might seem like I didn't really give out many of those hampers because I used to carry them with me in my son's pram. And if I saw someone that was homeless, I would give it to them. And I gave out maybe two or three of them out of all of them, but I never felt away about the fact that I didn't get to give out loads of them. The duty, what I did really want to do is that I wanted to go around and give them out, but especially in the winter, but it was so cold and it was really hard to do with having my little one and kind of having to travel and take buses all over the place. And I remember I did do it one time, but I actually didn't find anyone to give one to, um, which was I was a little bit disappointed because I really, really wanted to give them out. But even still, I kept those hampers and totally forgot about them. And I've probably moved homes like two times in the time I've made those those little packages or little hampers. And the amazing thing was is that um last year um I was able to donate those to a charity that took those to Africa, and it felt amazing to be able to still give those things away. Um, because I always felt like they're not mine. You know, I've I've I've you know, God has put it on my heart to make these for others, and I really wanted to let them be given to those in need. And so I'm sharing this to say that when you feel like you need to do something really huge to make a difference, it is about, it's not necessarily about that. It's about what do you see around you in your little circle? What can you do for anyone? You know, anyone you see, there could be someone at work, there could be someone at church, um, there could be someone anywhere around you that you may see in need. And so when you think that your purpose has to be huge and you have to have loads and loads of money um to be able to support and help someone, you actually don't. Um I remember just taking my time to do the hampers. Um, I went to different stores and I found deals and sales and you know, different things. And when Elohim places something on your heart to do, we must follow through. There's a lot of you could be hindering yourself in so many ways by not following through with what the Holy Spirit is encouraging you to do. And there's something powerful in giving. And so I just want to encourage you all in whatever way possible. I'm not saying that we have to kind of overly put yourself out where you're not, I don't know, you don't pay this bill because you're gonna give this money. But I'm just saying that there's always a little bit of something that we have in our pocket extra that we can give to a friend or, you know, a family member. There may be in need of a meal or something. You know, there's always something you can do. And so I encourage you to pray about this and ask Elahim to guide you to who can you support, who can you care for, who can you just give a helping hand to? It could be a thing where they need help with moving, or someone just needs a word of advice, or they're just in need of you to pray with them. And there's always something we can do daily, and um yeah, just stay encouraged. It will make you feel encouraged, the fact that you are there to encourage someone. And we're not here by chance, we're not here because you know it's anything to do with luck, quote unquote, because we don't walk in luck. Um, Elohim has us here for a purpose and for a reason. And the only way that his what is the word I'm looking for? The only way that his plans can be fulfilled is through us. So I pray that this encourages somebody. And yeah, thank you guys for listening. And um, I pray that um you're able to come back and give our testimonies to us or with me sharing what you were able to do to help and support someone. And I'm sure I'm guaranteed that you will feel so amazing. But let that experience also bring you humility and remember who you are doing it for. It's not for yourself, but it's to bring glory to our saviour. God bless you all and take care.
